As the wind blows from the West and follows through to the East
I will be waiting in the crossroads for you and I to meet
And the spirits will wind, twirl and fly
Through the intersecting space between you and I
But out of the shadows lurks a painful memory
The sin called Lust was once my enemy
Now I strike it down with cold, calculating ease
As from the same shadow lurks another disease
Much stronger than the last its name is not forgotten
For the son of Lust is Desire, the stronger was begotten
You may see that Lust effects the body and find
Desire to be much harder to kill; it’s a disease of the mind
When confronted with such an adversary what must you do?
Should you try to live with it? No! How could you
So the only answer is to kill the impending crux of doom
As you lay awake thinking of her in your room
So you shut out the light and embrace the dark
The stark terror that you feel deep down in your heart
It won’t go away, no, not till you win
But as you enter the shadow all you see is a grin
The dead face in front and the darkness behind
It swallows up your soul and leaves you unkind
The battle is lost, you cannot win alone
As your mind races wildly, your desires are shown
At first you are scared. What trickery is this?
What you really want comes forth and shatters your bliss
Control is far from reach, the end is near
Your sanity is breached, there is nothing but fear
But out of the dark comes a light that is true
Love, faith, happiness, all this is for you
So you reach for the hand that pierces through the fog
Get dragged out of the mess of your mind, memory jogged
There once was a place full of compassion and joy
The place of your dreams when you were a boy
At the cross roads you find yourself once again in life
Deciding which path to take, when like a warm bloody knife
Near your foot is a shadow and grin hid inside
Locks onto your gaze and enters your eyes
But this time you are ready, your mind is your own
You can deal with this, but not alone
You call on the one that once brought you light
And a glorious sounds emits through the night
The monster, eyes wide, panting full of fear
Withdraws into the shadow as it hears
And down from the heavens floats a small black bound book
Gilded in gold, from the earth it has shook
Light comes from the pages, flooding the land
The shadow disappears as it enters your hand
Now you feel like you will never be alone
There will be no more shadows; you can now choose the road
There is a narrow, windy one labeled “salvation at hand”
And a short, wide, easy one labeled “have fun in the sand”
You like things easy so you begin to pace
Towards the one with the larger path, laziness chased
But the book in your hand starts to brighten and burn
So you look down and see a shadow return
Scared by this series of horrific events
You turn around and walk toward the road that is bent
The closer you get the nicer it feels
To hold the book in your hand and the desert at your heels
As the wind blows from the west and follows through to the east
Between two scarred hands, you finally find peace
I will be waiting in the crossroads for you and I to meet
And the spirits will wind, twirl and fly
Through the intersecting space between you and I
But out of the shadows lurks a painful memory
